From Weimar to Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv 101, Youth Aliyah Child Rescue’s recent event celebrated the White City’s architectural history. “If a group of people who have a dream get together,” said architect Lisette Khalastchi speaking on the journey of the Bauhaus Movement from Weimar to Tel Aviv , “then it can truly become a reality. The dream of raising much needed funds became a reality as well – more than £11,000 can now be sent to the children in our Youth Villages.

Dinner at the Palace

The 75th Anniversary Dinner of Youth Aliyah Child Rescue at St. James’s Palace held in association with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association and attended by HRH The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex KG KCVO on 5th November 2008 was a tremendous success. One hundred and seventy guests enjoyed an elegant event in the Palace’s ornate Picture Gallery.
His Royal Highness spoke of how encouraged he was that the opportunity of achieving the Award could now be offered to so many new young people.
Melvin Robinson, Dinner Chairman, stressed the vital role which the five Youth Aliyah Villages are able to play today in the lives of their residents: that “of a loving and nurturing family which the children had never before experienced”.
