An evening with Gary Mabbutt MBE and Ray Parlour
6 Sep 2017 | 7.00pm
We are delighted to announce that the first Youth Aliyah Child Rescue Sports Dinner held at Dyrham Golf Club raised over £35,000 for Talpiot Children’s Village.
Guest speakers, former Spurs player, Gary Mabbutt MBE and Ray Parlour, formerly of Arsenal, spoke candidly about their football experience and life in general. The evening was then opened up to the audience to ask their own questions to Gary and Ray.
Daliah Mehdi, Executive Director of Youth Aliyah Child Rescue gave an emotional speech about the importance of Youth Aliyah Child Rescue today and how children as young as five who have suffered abuse and neglect from their families live, heal and learn at Talpiot Children’s Village. Daliah talked about Tali, aged 12, whose only words on entering the village were “I want to die”. With consistency and support from the Village staff over the past five years, Tali has been able to find happiness and has learned to accept and give love. Today she cares for her younger foster siblings and looks forward to a bright future.
Gary Mabbutt said it was a pleasure to speak at an event for such a worthwhile charity whilst Ray Parlour said he hopes the event had raised a lot of money for a great cause.
Grahame Roth, Committee Chairman of YACR thanked our guests for attending and for the contribution they have given to the children in Israel.
