The pet zoo is an exciting project with the goal of allowing children to develop personal learning skills, rehabilitate their emotional wellbeing and instill in them an appreciation of nature and animals. The zoo also houses teaching rooms. Here, they can create ties with the surrounding community and cultivate their social identity and skills. Stroking or speaking to the animals has proven to be a most enhancing and rewarding experience for children who, on a daily basis, sadly miss the calm, the warmth and personal touch of their parents.
